Best Eyelash Extension Glue

Updated: Apr 18, 2023

One of the most common questions asked by lash technicians is "which lash glue is the best to use?". With so many great brands on the market we did research and conducted test to put together our top list of great lash glues.

Before we jump to listing our top picks, let's briefly discuss what makes a lash glue great. When lashing having a glue that includes all 3 components is considered a winner:

-curates (dries) quickly is a must

-has low fumes and odors to prevent eye irritation causing red eye, or dryness

-must have a strong bond, which creates great retention with preventing lash extensions from breaking apart from the natural lash

Need To Know

Eyelash extensions require using a formulated adhesive that is safe to use near and around the eye. The main ingredient used in lash glue is cyanoacrylate {sahy-an-oh-ak-ruh-leyt}, which is used in medical grade adhesives for surgical procedures, and wound closures.

Lash adhesives use Methyl or Ethyl Cyanoacrylates. Ethyl is the preferred acrylate of choice. These are not medical grade glues, but they are safe for use around the eye area when used properly. Both ethyl and methyl cyanoacrylates are quick drying which serves lashers well. Most medical grade acrylates (octyl, and butyl) are slower drying, which is why lashers don't find its use beneficial.

Cyanoacrylates is a acrylic resin that will quickly cure (polymerize) with moisture present. If a client is allergic to acrylics they will be allergic to lash glues!

Shelf Life for lash glues are 1 month, this means once glue is opened it is good for use for up to 30 days! It's important to change your glue EVERY month. Failure to do so will result in poor bonding and retention leading to unsatisfied clients. We highly recommend glue being purchased when needed and used immediately after purchase, and that you never purchased in bulk. Be aware all adhesives can be degraded for many reasons including extreme exposure to hot or cold temperatures. Pricing varies for lash glue, and just because its expensive doesn't mean it's the best. It's a FACT that fresh glue always gives the best results!
